Word of the month: S-N-O-W

You want it, we got it. Each week seems to offer up more and more. The last storm left us with 24", and we got at least another 12" plus last night. Yet another snow day. It's gotten to the point where the children wander into our room in the morning asking whether or not school's in session- assuming the answer will be no. We've made major headway in our Harry Potter series, as a result. Book 4 is getting hard to put down. Praying for at least a delay tomorrow.

Having had a great time at Bromley, we decided to trek even further north to Smugglers' Notch, about a 5-hour drive from CT. Beautiful but frigid. Sunday's temps reached 10 below; despite the cold, H and P headed out for a second day with a very nice ski instructor, Diane. They are both feeling very confident on skis, having a great time, and didn't protest with the arctic temps. Portia's frost-bitten little nose was the first sign that it was time to call it quits for the day.
