Girlie and her drawings

It is really fascinating to see Portia draw. Drawing is so natural for her and so fun; almost like the pastel or pencil or marker is just an extension of her little hand. Interesting, too, is how she can simultaneously draw while absolutely focusing listening to the likes of Harry Potter being read aloud. She doesn't miss a beat and yet is often drawing complicated scenarios like the one she was at work on tonight: it involved a dinosaur (wearing boots) climbing a mountain (whose snow cap was gray and not white), an-adjacent-to-the-mountain floating in mid-air water pistol shooting water, abstract smiling children's faces surrounding this whole scene and butterflies surveying it all. My task was to discern what 'was wrong' in the picture...naturally, the snow cap should be white, dinos don't wear boots, why would a water pistol shoot H2O at a dino after all, and a few other things that she was excited to reveal. So fun to see her little head and hand come up with this stuff. Here's a small sample of some of her drawings of late. Although I am certifiably drowning in artwork, I can't seem to purge a one.
